2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly: When you complete our quote request forms, we may collect: your full name; email address; phone number; business name; state of operation; bond type and amount; business revenue and employee count; credit score range (self-reported); and vehicle, property, or professional details relevant to your coverage request.
Information collected automatically: We collect standard web analytics data including IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. We use Cloudflare for bot protection, which may collect technical data about your browser and device.
Information we do not collect on this site: We do not collect Social Security Numbers (SSNs), Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs), full payment card numbers, or banking information through this website. If underwriting requires a credit inquiry, your SSN or ITIN is collected by a Coral Point representative through a separate secure process.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to: respond to your quote request and provide insurance quotes; match you with appropriate licensed insurance carriers; communicate with you about your inquiry via email, phone, or text (with your consent); improve and personalize your experience on our website; comply with legal and regulatory obligations applicable to licensed insurance brokers; and prevent fraud, spam, and unauthorized submissions.
Soft credit inquiries: If you provide your consent through our form, we authorize the insurance carriers we work with — not Coral Point — to obtain a soft credit pull for underwriting purposes. Soft inquiries do not affect your credit score and are not visible to other lenders.
4. How We Share Your Information
Insurance carriers: To obtain your quote, we share your relevant information with the licensed insurance carriers quoting your coverage. These carriers have their own privacy practices and are subject to state and federal insurance privacy regulations.
Service providers: We work with third-party vendors to operate our website and business, including email services, CRM platforms, and web analytics tools. These vendors are contractually required to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, including the California Department of Insurance.
We never sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) Disclosure
By providing your phone number on our quote request form, you expressly consent to be contacted by Coral Point Insurance Services and its authorized representatives via telephone, pre-recorded voice message, and/or text (SMS) message at the number provided, regarding your insurance quote request and related insurance products. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. To opt out of phone calls, please contact us directly at (800) 962-0054 or email surety@coralpointins.com. Your consent to receive communications is not a condition of purchasing any insurance product or service.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt Out: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under California law.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at surety@coralpointins.com or call (800) 962-0054. We will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request.
7. Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) — Insurance NPI Notice
As a licensed insurance broker, we are required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act to inform you about how we collect, share, and protect your nonpublic personal information (NPI). We collect NPI from you directly when you request quotes, from insurance carriers during the underwriting process, and from third-party sources with your consent. We limit sharing of NPI to what is reasonably necessary to service your insurance needs and comply with law. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your NPI.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including providing insurance services, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Lead and quote data is generally retained for a minimum of five (5) years in accordance with California insurance regulatory requirements. If you wish to request deletion of your information, please contact us.
